WINTER HUNT AVAILABILTY

From December until March.. THIS IS ALL THAT WE HAVE LEFT.

Calling all thrill seekers. Winter hunts with us, are truly “imprinting”experiences. You will have a true “Jeremiah Johnson” trip. Riding miles in snow on horseback, hunting Idaho’s Massive Apex Predators. There is something special.. and eery about knowing you’re the only ones in the Middlefork hiking around. Standing on the ridge line with a storm rolling in.. Gus and Gage Howl in a pack of wolves that have been pestering the elk in the fall. It’s Exhilarating.. nerve racking.. and something you see only in movies. Or packing dogs in the pack boxes crossing Ice Shelves with the Mules, to run a TOM through the most dangerous and unforgiving terrain to tree one at the top of a tree.

These hunts are not for the faint of heart. It takes not only physical toughness but most importantly mental toughness. These are first come first serve. Trips are only considered BOOKED with a deposit and contract returned. If you claim a trip and do not return a deposit and contract within 10 days of claiming and without any further coordination, we will consider it to be available.

HEART X OUTFITTERS IS THE HEART OF THE MIDDLE FORK! We are located at Lower Loon on the Middle Fork and the B-C Ranch at the end of the road. We are based out of Salmon Idaho. Ample hunting options with units 27, the Middle Fork zone, and unit 28  in the Salmon zone. We have 2 areas, Loon Creek in the heart of the Wilderness and a fly in area only. We also have a frontage ranch that backs right into the Wilderness. The B-C ranch you can drive to or fly into pending on the weather. The airstrips we use are backcountry and remote. At both locations we will ride out 3-4 hours and get farther into the wilderness, where we have our camps set up. Both ranches are private and we lease them. It is very important to know, your overall health and physical condition will play the biggest part in your overall success. The Frank Church Wilderness is not for the faint of heart, it is very steep and rugged. We encourage all clients to come prepared for a great deal of physical activity. We ride our outfitter stock out from camps and will still do a great deal of hiking. We offer something for everyone – Summer activities, Packer / Guide School, Elk / Deer hunts, Sheep hunts, Bear hunts, and Lion/ Wolf hunts. We can run our hunts 1:1s or 2:1s. We can take larger groups- call for more information on those options. We also train and raise high quality mules, horses and hounds for purchase.
